Georgia Tech’s Global Business Forum April 8 to Explore Opportunities in Brazil spacer

Georgia Tech’s 15th Global Business Forum on April 8 will focus on “Brazil and Its Markets: Opportunities and Strategies for U.S.-based Firms in a Restructuring World.”  Organized by Georgia Tech’s Center for International Business Educational and Research (CIBER) and Georgia Tech College of Management, the forum will run from 8 AM to 5 PM at UPS Headquarters (55 Glenlake Parkway, Atlanta, 30328).

The forum is designed for business decision-makers; export, marketing and operations managers; strategic business planners, legal practitioners, consultants, and academics with a special interest in the region.

“Technology and business executives who attend will be able to identify market opportunities, to overcome regulatory and cultural challenges, and to develop targeted strategies to maximize their competitive advantage in the context of one of the fastest growing markets in the world, Brazil,” says John McIntyre, director of Georgia Tech CIBER and professor of strategic management.

Panel discussions led by corporate, academic and government leaders will include:

  • “A Forecasting Outlook for the Brazilian Economy and the Brazil-U.S. Trade Relationship.”
  • “Penetrating Brazil’s Markets: Legal, Marketing and Strategic Approaches”
  • “Renewable Energy and Green Technologies”
  • “Information Technologies: Innovation and Outsourcing.”

Keynote addresses will be delivered by the Hon. Walter Bastian, deputy assistant secretary (Western hemisphere) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, at 8:30 AM; and Hon. Ken Stewart, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, during lunch.

 Presented by UPS, the forum is held in partnership with:

  • Brazilian-American Chamber of  Commerce of Georgia
  • Consulate General of Brazil in Atlanta
  • Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
  • Georgia Department of Economic Development
  • Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce
  • U.S. Department of Commerce/U.S. Export Assistance Center
