Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series will feature Jim McCaffrey discussing innovation at Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) on October 1.

McCaffrey, who will speak at 4:30 PM in LeCraw Auditorium, is executive vice president of operations & strategy and chief strategy officer for TBS.

Held by the College of Management and the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, the weekly IMPACT series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni, and members of the Atlanta community a free opportunity to network and learn from high-tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business leaders.

McCaffrey leads a team of senior executives responsible for managing Turner Strategic Planning, New Products, Corporate Development, Enterprise Management, Network Operations, Turner Studios, and Turner Technology Development, as well as the CNN Systems, Technology, and Engineering units.

As lead strategist for Turner, he is charged with the assessment of long-term risks and opportunities, and the development of all strategic initiatives across the company's domestic and international entertainment, news, and sports portfolio.
