    Chris Forman joined the ITM faculty at the College of Management at Georgia Tech in the fall of 2007. Before coming to Georgia Tech he was on the faculty at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

    His research interests include the geography of IT use, electronic commerce, diffusion of IT innovations, IT strategy, and services outsourcing and offshoring. More recently, he has been studying the geography of innovation in software development.

    His research has appeared or is forthcoming in places such as Management Science, MIS Quarterly, the Journal of Management Information Systems, the Journal of Urban Economics, Information Economics and Policy, Interfaces, and elsewhere. He is an Associate Editor at Information Systems Research and the Journal of the Association for Information Systems. He was a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2004.

    He is an Alfred P. Sloan Industry Studies Fellow, with an emphasis on the software industry. He was the recipient of the best paper award at the Fifth Annual Conference on Electronic Commerce, recognized for his work on adoption of the internet by commercial establishments. He was also a runner-up for the best paper award at the 38th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences.
